In class on Friday we talked about the Vice Presidential debates between Biden and Palin. The TV station split the screen so we were able to see both candidates while the other was talking. While Palin would be talking Biden would be taking notes. While during Biden's speech, Palin was smiling at the camera. We also noticed that Biden would talk about McCain and not Palin because he did not want to be seen as a gender biased, mean old guy that was attacking a women. All the while Palin was smiling like crazy and trying to avoid Hillary-like behavior and aggression.

Good post Alex. It really points out how both candidates are told to act by their party. I also think that it is interesting that if Biden were to smile he would not look tough-guy anymore. He would appear as a weaker candidate and this was not one of his main goals in the debate. In looking at the picture that is present in your post, I find it very interesting that Palin has two large microphones verses Biden who has one small one. Also, both of the candidates are standing in front of the American flag, and are wearing American flags on their shirts.
